BRUTAL: A man was gunned down outside the Manenberg cop shop

A MAN was gunned down in broad daylight outside the Manenberg police station yesterday morning in what is believed to be the latest flareup in ongoing gang violence on the Cape Flats.

The 44-year-old was gunned down on Monday at about 10.15am on the corner of Klipfontein and Duinefontein Road. The incident occurred outside the Manenberg cop shop.

The man was standing behind a taxi when an unknown gunman walked up to him and shot him in the back of the head.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that Manenberg SAPS registered a murder case.

Van Wyk said: “According to reports, SAPS Members attended to a complaint of a shooting incident at the mentioned address and on arrival they found the victim lying in the road with one gunshot wound at the back of his head.
