SECURITY GUARD 'KILLED FOR HIS SERVICE GUN'

A SECURITY guard was killed for his gun while on duty on Thursday afternoon in Gugulethu as he was safeguarding a cemetery fencing project.
Three other victims were also shot and wounded in the incident.
The 45-year-old security guard was shot and killed when the victims were ambushed by unknown gunmen driving a GWM light delivery vehicle at around 3pm.
It is believed that the victims were targeted for their weapons as the suspects took off with the victims’ service firearms.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Gugulethu detectives are investigating murder and attempted murder cases.
