TRIBUTES are pouring in for Portland High School matric learner Abdul Muizz Diedericks who was gunned down on Saturday afternoon in Beacon Valley, Mitchells Plain.
GUNNED DOWN: Abdul Muizz Diedericks, 18
Muizz, 18 was shot and killed in Judo Street when he was approached by unknown gunmen around 3pm.
Muizz’s father told the Daily Voice that the family is shattered by the loss, as the teen was preparing to sit for his National Senior Certificate exams, and will talk to the media a later stage.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Mitchells Plain detectives are investigating a murder case.
Twigg reported: “Mitchells Plain police attended to a complaint of a shooting on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at about 3.15pm, in Judo Street, Beacon Valley, and upon arrival on the scene they found a 18-year-old male who sustained gunshot wounds to his body.
