Cops probe attempted murder after 'tricked' teenager drinks acid

WOODLANDS residents are kwaad after a teen was allegedly tricked into drinking acid by a co-worker.

Cops have opened a case of attempted murder.

The victim, who left school to help his single mother make ends meet, was employed at Mitchell's Moslem Butchery in Woodlands, Mitchells Plain

According to reports, the victim was allegedly tricked into drinking oven acid from a Sprite bottle by a jealous co-worker, however after realising that the contents were harmful he spat it out.

The victim was admitted to Groote Schuur hospital with internal bleeding and was on life support in the ICU, but has recently gone off critical status.
