JAMIE VARDY turned back the clock as the Ruud van Nistelrooy era kicked off in stunning style.

Veteran Vardy got the first, as goals from Bilal El Khannouss and Patson Daka sealed a win against a toothless West Ham side, whose own manager Julen Lopetegui was serenaded to a hearty chant of, “You’re getting sacked in the morning”.

Foxes ace Vardy might be nudging 38 but when you time your runs as well as he did last night, it doesn’t matter.

El Khannouss drifted in from the left flank and threaded a pass behind Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Vardy glanced up and saw the flag had stayed down. He finished expertly, sending the ball across Lukasz Fabianski.
