Unpaid Owls threaten to cancel opener

Henrik Pedersen’s Owls are due to return to Championship action on Sunday, but having cancelled a preseason friendly at Burnley due to ongoing payment issues, have hinted they would be willing to do so again.

Players also expressed solidarity with colleagues in other departments at Hillsborough and reassured fans they had not ‘downed tools’ on the training pitch.
