Trump in White House? Dennis would cause a proper stink!

Beano boss Mike Stirling reveals the cartoon terror would take on the POTUS with the power of pranks.

He'd start off by changing the branding on his gear from Trump to Pump, to "imply a stink about the place".

"Then he'd stick a sachet of barbecue sauce on the end of his plastic McDonald's straw and put it in his drinks cup." Mike, inset, whose official title is Director of Mischief, has become quite the expert on practical jokes.

Most of them featured in the beloved comic are "tested on me before they go live," he admits.

And by keeping in touch with his childish side, he's helped make the 87-year-old Beano a modern success.

Even in a world of iPads and Nintendo Switches, thousands of youngsters are picking up a copy every week.

"We always get our best ideas from kids," he says. "It's because we speak to kids so much that the characters stay fresh and relevant.

"People who have moved away from Beano don't understand that, they think, 'I read it in the 1980s so the characters must do all the same stuff.
