Littler wants new plans for a Thursday night

- MIKE WALTERS

LUKE LITTLER has called for the current Premier League darts formula to be scrapped - even though it has made him the tournament's richest earner.

Since 2022, the 16-week Thursday night circus has been based on an eight-player mini-knockout tournament, with the winner collecting £10,000 as the last man standing.

But Luke the Nuke believes the format has become too repetitive after the reigning world champion played Luke Humphries six weeks running in this season's event.

And Littler, who has banked £160,000 by winning 16 nights over three campaigns, admits he prefers a return to the competition's former round-robin league - in a field expanded to 10 players with a Judgement Night where the bottom two are eliminated.
