Well beckhams crawling and Brown nosing finally paid off he got a knighthood for doing Nothing! Whata Creep. MATILDA

I was nearly sick seeing that twit Beckham get knighted. He crept constantly till he got it. There are more deserving folk out there. Bex

What a joke, David Beckham being knighted. All he has done is make money for himself, He wasn’t even a very good footballer. Yet a man who has put his body through hell for charity doesn’t get one the man is KEVIN SINFIELD This country should be ashamed. He is ten times the man Beckham is. K SOM

The knighting of David Beckham for his sporting contributions and charity work was pleasing to see. The important component was his charity work, rather than his job as a sports person no matter how talented he was. The recipients should be people who have gone far above what was expected, they shouldn't go to those who have simply done their job very well. There are so many people who do charity work without most receiving or expecting any recognition but we should at least say thanks. Dennis Fitzgerald
