Brook batters Windies then catches 'em out

- by DAVID CHARLESWORTH

ENGLAND'S latest white-ball reboot under new captain Harry Brook started in stunning fashion as they thrashed the West Indies by 238 runs at Edgbaston.

A decade on from posting a 400-plus total in ODIs for the first time to kickstart the revival under Eoin Morgan, England piled up 400-8.

And Brook, who was one of four batters to pass fifty, also weighed in with five catches to equal the ODI record held by fielding specialist Jonty Rhodes of South Africa.

Brook said: "That was a phenomenal performance from the boys. We got 400 runs! We've got so much power."

Jacob Bethell top scored in England's innings with 82 off 53 deliveries, and calls for his Test inclusion are sure to grow.
