REVEREND And The Makers have ditched their politics and social commentary to make a claim for the Christmas No1.

Teaming up with the Samaritans to release festive ballad Late Night Phone Call, the song was partly inspired after singer Jon McClure lost his father to cancer in April.
Jon told me: "Now, I just want to sing great songs that make people happy. I've stopped boxing myself in, when I'd been in a mind prison of, 'I won't do this or that.
