Nelson's locks found in skip a snip at £1.5k

A LOCK of naval hero Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson's hair found in a skip has sold at auction for £1,500.

The legendary British naval commander's plaited tress was discovered in a recycling skip by a worker more than 40 years ago along with a letter of verification.

Nelson, born in 1758, was famous for his victories against the French during the Napoleonic Wars and met his death at the hands of a French sniper during the Battle of Trafalgar.
