Threesy does it as Islam eyes history
ISLAM MAKHACHEV has cemented his place as the best lightweight in UFC history and the current pound-for-pound No.1 in the company.
However, the Russian star is determined to leave no doubt about MMA's all-time pecking order before he finally hangs them up, vowing to go on a gold rush next.
Makhachev made quick work of late-notice opponent Renato Moicano at UFC 311, picking up his 15th win in a row thanks to a first-round D'arce choke.
Victory was also his fourth consecutive title defence, beating the record held, among others, by his coach Khabib Nurmagomedov.
