LAWES' NOVICE HURDLER MAD FOR IT

TOBY LAWES will take on his old boss on Festival Trials Day at Cheltenham with "exciting" young hurdler Klimt Madrik.

The trainer used to be Nicky Henderson's assistant, riding work on 10-time Grade One winner Altior and 2017 King George VI Chase hero Might Bite.

Between them they notched up five firsts at the Festival and Lawes hopes his stable star can book his own ticket with a bold show in Saturday's Grade Two AIS Novices' Hurdle.

Henderson saddles Act Of Innocence, the likely favourite carrying the colours of Gordon and Su Hall, whose Old Park Star has reached the summit of the Supreme Novices' Hurdle betting.
