JOTA WENT EXTRA MILE SAYS BETO

BETO has revealed the kindness of Diogo Jota eased his path to Merseyside when he signed for Everton.

The Toffees go to Liverpool for the 247th Merseyside derby today, their first meeting since April 2 when Jota scored the only goal at Anfield.

In the wake of Jota’s tragic death three months later, striker Beto (above) joined club ambassador Ian Snodin in presenting a floral tribute at Liverpool's ground.

Although Beto was not close to his local football rival off the field, Jota reached out to him when he joined Everton from Udinese in August 2023.
