The American is hoping to conquer the links course after he claimed glory at one of the toughest tests on tour.

Spaun, 34, won by two strokes back in June and is now heading into his first Open with very little experience of links golf. But he believes dealing with the thick rough and conditions at Oakmont can help him adapt.
