JIMMY ANDERSON has admitted to having second thoughts over his impending Test retirement.

The 41-year-old will quit international cricket after July’s Lord’s Test against West Indies and has accepted the reality of the situation – but still feels he can perform at the highest level for England.

“In my head I feel like I could play for 10 years,” said Anderson.

“Obviously I realise that is not realistic.

“Some days I wake up and wish I was not retiring but then 90 per cent of the time I’m happy with it.”

Anderson has yet to decide whether to play on for Lancashire after his Lord’s swansong.
