HOWE HAILS HIS DREAM STRIKING DUO

EDDIE HOWE has hit back at claims Newcastle have become a one man team.

The Magpies looked powderpuff without in-form Alexander Isak in the 2-0 midweek defeat by Liverpool at Anfield, where they failed to register a shot on target.

The Swede faces a late fitness test ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup fifth round game at home to Brighton.

Howe insists his groin injury is not a serious cause for concern but accepts that if Newcastle are to upset Liverpool in this month's Carabao Cup final and push for a top five finish, a fully fit Isak is vital.

Not that he believes the Toon can't function without their 21-goal hitman.

"I don't think we're a one-man team," said Howe. "I would never classify us in that bracket.

"But in saying that, we recognise Alex's strengths and his abilities.
