THE Hives won't be taking a page out of Coldplay’s book - they’re determined not to give you more bang for your buck.

Unlike Chris Martin and co, the Swedish rockers have a short fuse when it comes to firework displays and other razzle-dazzle distractions at shows.

Singer Per “Pelle” Almqvist told me: “We have always advocated a certain form of stage minimalism. We're more AC/DC than Ghost.

“Every time we tried to add lighting effects, we felt like we were at Eurovision... and besides, it's not complicated to buy fireworks. Any idiot can do it!”
