Hero pilot saves five riders as engine fails

FIVE jockeys cheated death when the aircraft flying them to Glorious Goodwood in West Sussex made a miraculous emergency landing.

PJ McDonald, Callum Rodriguez, Tom Eaves, Rowan Scott and Jack Garrity were terrified when the twin-engined plane lost power 30 minutes into the flight.

The pilot told them one engine had cut out and he had to return to Bagby Airfield, near Thirsk, North Yorks.
