THE last time we sighted DIEGO VENTURA (1.30) he obliged in Listed company at Longchamp over today’s trip in May, and a repetition of that effort will see him go very close in the Listed Nyetimber Surrey Stakes run over seven furlongs at Epsom.

He picks up a 3lb penalty for that success, but before that Hamad Al Jehani’s colt was third to Cosmic Year at Newmarket, and that horse franked the form when second in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

In 2019, Charlie Appleby sent out Pinatubo to capture the Betfred Woodcote Stakes run over six furlongs, and that juvenile went on to land three Group One contests.

The fact he has targeted MAXIMIZED (2.05) at this season's event looks a very strong steer, as the son of Mehmas made a sparkling start to his career when scoring at Haydock over this afternoon's trip 15 days ago.
