Bevan takes it easy after final so he's on the beers for a few a days

BEVAN FRENCH marked his long-awaited return with a try at Wembley to help Wigan win the Challenge Cup - but the Aussie admits his comeback may be only temporary.

The 30-year-old marked his return from a torn hamstring in style during Wigan's stampede over Hull KR.

His inclusion in Wigan's extended squad was one of the major talking points ahead of the showdown. Ultimately named on the bench, French never doubted he would be involved.

However, he could be set for another spell on the sidelines, with Wigan travelling to Paris next week to face Catalans Dragons in a showcase fixture.

“(Coach) Matty (Peet) doubted it for a second, but I didn't,” said French. “We had a conversation a couple of weeks ago about trying to fast forward the rehab process a little bit.

“Once we had that conversation, I convinced myself I was going to do it - a bit of manifestation.
