Danish ace to call Championship tune
BACK a Danish sizzler to bring home the bacon for us in the Championship.
Norwich City might have done the best business of the summer grabbing young striker Mathias Kvistgaarden from Brondby for what could prove to be a cheap-as-chips £7million.
The 23-year-old came of age in Denmark's top flight last season, ending his campaign with 23 goals in 38 games all told, including a couple in Europe.
Norwich catch the eye generally after appointing Liam Manning, who got unfancied Bristol City to the playoffs last time round.
The expected-points data from the 2024-25 campaign suggests the Canaries could easily have finished much higher up the pecking order than 13th anyway, with a just better rub of the green.
If Kvistgaarden kicks-on as expected he could unlock a serious Norwich top-six challenge - and the 40-1 (Bet365, Unibet) he grabs the Golden Boot is well worth an each-way tickle.
The Boot race looks the best way to fun-punt the second tier for this season, which kicked off last night with Birmingham against Ipswich.
