CARMERS hit a career high for Royal Ascot newcomer Paddy Twomey in the Group Two Queen's Vase.
Never before had the Irish handler saddled a runner at the feast of racing action in Berkshire, but he chose to set the ball rolling with an unbeaten horse.
And that record remained unblemished as 9-2 shot Carmers upgraded his efforts from Ballinrobe and Navan to repel the staying-on pair of Furthur and Rahiebb.
