THE Rugby Football Union is one of the largest sports organisations in England.

It is also one of the wealthiest.

And its role as the sport's governing body is to promote and run the international team, while educating coaches like Steve Borthwick in the process.

But good luck talking some sense into Borthwick.

Because he appears to be one of the most delusional ones in the whole of the game.

Having seen his side's Six Nations campaign added to the ruins of Rome, Borthwick insisted he was still the right man to rebuild his team.

Despite England now looking to wrest the wooden spoon from Wales’ grasp, Borthwick wants to lead his side into the next World Cup in 18 months time.

He simply cannot be thinking straight.
