NEW treatments to slow the ageing of the brain may be possible after a major breakthrough.

Scientists have identified specific cell types that undergo major changes as they get older, along with a "hot spot" where many of those changes occur.

The findings could pave the way for future therapies to slow or manage brain ageing, the US boffins say.
