Cops called about sex snaps

BBC bosses have called in cops over claims one of its top stars paid a teen £35,000 for sex snaps.

The move came after the broadcaster finally suspended the presenter two months after it admitted first receiving a complaint about him.

The unnamed star had continued to appear on air. But yesterday the Beeb, led by director general Tim Davie, inset below, said he had been suspended after "new allegations" of a "different nature" were made on Thursday.

The broadcaster called cops after talking to the teen's family.

A Met Police spokesman said the force had "received initial contact" from the BBC though "no formal referral or allegation has been made"
