When the first John Wick flick came out nine years ago, we were used to seeing A-listers star in pulpy action movies.
Liam Neeson was on his third Taken, Antonio Banderas had joined The Expendables and Sean Penn was beefing up for The Gunman.
These were forgiving affairs that covered up their stars’ limited fighting abilities (and switches to their stunt doubles) with rapid edits and shaky cameras.
