LET'S say you get the builders in to fit a new kitchen.

You agree a price and the length of time it will take to finish.

For the sake of argument, it’s £5,000 and a three-week job.

But a week in the builders turn around and say it won't be finished for months - and will cost double the quote.

Next, they tell you it'll now take more than a year and cost three times as much.

Not only that, but they've decided they can only do half the original build.

On top of that, they've squandered the money you've handed over and want the rest up front.

At the very least, you'd be kicking these cowboys out and ripping up any contracts.
