KIDS are set for extra festive holidays as Britain's -10C Arctic New Year freeze shuts schools.

Hundreds of thousands of children, due back tomorrow, could skip lessons as up to 7in of fresh snow hits from tonight.

But parents returning to work face childcare headaches.

Up to 5,000 UK schools have been closed by snow on the same day in recent years, with over 1.5 million children off.
