Yogi call to educate on ball heading

A SCOTTISH football legend has told of his dementia fears after a career of frequently heading the ball.

John Hughes, known as Yogi, said there is "no hiding" from the link between headers and brain injuries.

The former centre half, 60, said: "I used to head the ball further than I could kick it."

Hughes spoke at an event which unveiled a new report backing calls for footballers with brain injuries to access social security payments.
