YOANE WISSA scored on his first Premier League start for Newcastle as boss Eddie Howe signed off 2025 with a priceless victory to silence some of his critics.
The win was not the prettiest, but the Magpies got the job done and Howe's side pulled away from the bottom half of the table.
Manager Howe had endured some fierce social media comments in the buildup to the game but his players responded with a decent performance for him.
The Magpies could not have asked for a better start as they scored after 65 seconds.
Anthony Gordon got free down the left and picked out Joelinton arriving in the box for the Brazilian to clip it past his former teammate Martin Dubravka.
