Forget all the noise.. Jambos players have just

- RYAN STEVENSON

FORGET Rangers and Scotland. Just think about Kilmarnock and Celtic.

I'm not sure what the Hearts players are feeling for now as the managerial merry-go-round speeds and fears linger folk might lean out to try and pull their manager on board.

But might and could don't matter.

Rugby Park and the champions are the reality. I'm not going to spend another column talking about Derek McInnes and how he would be perfect for Rangers.

Everyone knows my feelings on that and I can't lie with the fact I wasn't exactly jumping over the couch in delight when I heard Steven Gerrard had knocked back the Ibrox gig.

Nor about the news Steve Clarke is likely to be finishing up with the national team when the World Cup campaign is over.

That's another gig which would have the Hearts manager at the top of the list, surely. At least that one won't be up for grabs until next year.

Not today, like Rangers. McInnes came out yesterday and said his job "is firmly at Hearts" which is great but I'll still feel a lot more at ease when someone else gets appointed at Ibrox.

Nonetheless, if you are a Tynecastle player just now, you have to put cotton wool in your eyes, bury your napper in the sand and ignore the what ifs. It's funny. If I was still in that dressing room, I'd be dropping snide remarks all over the place.
