HAIR TODAY GONE TOMORROW Martin is adamant noise around him is not worth his time focusing on as it falls outwith his control

WE'RE NOT AT CRITICAL YET

first leg on Tuesday. Fans made their feelings known in midweek and Martin knows a win at St Mirren tomorrow is vital.

After that is the return against the Belgians before a first Old Firm game of the season at Ibrox.

Rangers already trail Celtic by four points in the Premiership and cannot afford any further slip-ups.

But Martin is adamant that it is a work in progress at Ibrox and, crucially, the club's American owners are understanding.

He's adamant they are relaxed about the bumpy start to his tenure and claims the next three games will not be season-defining.

Martin said: “In terms of points, momentum and energy, all the games are important.

“We have a big week with three games that are going to be important.

“But none are season-defining. None are critical.

“They're important for us in our process and trying to improve.

“We have a chance to make things look very different in the next week.

“I came here with my eyes wide open and I knew what to expect.

“So I don't think it’s a surprise (the criticism).

“But I just have to look forward now, how we can impact it. The second half on Tuesday night gave me more excitement about what's to come.

“I'm working hard and treating it like we're going to be here for a long time.

“If you focus short term all the time to appease people and make them happy, it’s not it.

“The ownership group have been really calm, they've been great.

“Patrick Stewart, Kevin Thelwell, everyone's been so supportive.

“They understand what has gone on before and what needs to happen.

“Everyone I've bumped into in the city has been great - maybe I'm walking around in the right areas!

“When youre sitting behind a keyboard, it’s easy to say what you want.
