Scots skipper ready to rise to the occasion

- BY STUART BATHGATE

SKIPPER Rachel Malcolm admits Scotland will have to improve on their performance against Canada to have any chance against England in Sunday's women’s World Cup quarterfinal showdown.

But the veteran back-row forward is confident they can rise to the occasion after letting the game against the Canadians slip away from them as the Scots lost 40-19 on Saturday at Exeter's Sandy Park.

That meant they finished second in Pool B and set up a meeting with the hosts and favour-ites at Ashton Gate in Bristol.
