ENGLAND players pitched up at The Oval on Boris bikes to beat traffic chaos ahead of their delayed one-day international against West Indies.

- BY MIKE WALTERS

In farcical scenes, the tourists took almost two hours to make the four-mile journey from their Chelsea hotel when their coach was gridlocked.

And England players, including skipper Harry Brook, only escaped the traffic jams by taking to two wheels to make the4.5-mile trip from their hotel in Kensington High Street.

Brook, Ben Duckett, Brydon Carse and Adil Rashid joined the peloton aboard pay-as-you-go Lime bikes.

Others were reported to have dived on the Tube - at £2.90 a pop - in their training kit.

Heavy traffic in Parliament Square and faulty traffic lights at Vauxhall Bridge conspired to leave traffic crossing the River Thames from the north at a virtual standstill.
