TOWNSEND GETS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE

The Scotland head coach has felt the heat from fans since his team lost 33-24 to Argentina after being 21-0 up earlier this month.

But Murrayfield chief executive Alex Williamson said he still has total faith in Townsend, who signed a new two-year contract just a few months ago.

Speaking after Scottish Rugby’s AGM, Williamson admitted that the Pumas result and defeat to New Zealand a week earlier had been big disappointments.
