Notorious scalper behind site charging £24k for Haiti curtain-raiser, Fans warned that they could pay thousands and still not get into the games

- MARK McGIVERN

SCOTLAND fans have been warned they face a US World Cup ripoff with one tout site already claiming to have 7000 tickets for our matches.

Anti-tout campaigners have hit out after the site, Ticombo, offered a VIP ticket for our opening clash with Haiti for £24,000 - 51 times its face value.

And it claims to have thousands of tickets to sell for our clashes against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.

The great ticket ripoff is compounding the scandal that has already erupted over FIFA's sky-high pricing, which has outraged fans' groups worldwide.

Ticombo is fronted by notorious Norwegian scalper Atle Barlaup, who was also behind the Euroteam firm which collapsed after the 2012 Olympics, leaving up to 15,000 customers ticketless.

And in 2011, he admitted to BBC Panorama that he had paid disgraced FIFA vice-president Jack Warner €242,000 in cash for 820 World Cup tickets.
