It's Dallas wow Bhoys as Celts show they've not lost the plot and come alive again under O'Neill

THE SCRIPT RIGHTERS

IN a season featuring more wacky plot twists than at 3am at the Netflix Christmas party, this was more of an old-fashioned script being dusted down.

Celtic cruised to victory against Dundee United on Saturday and this might go down as the Parkhead club's version of the famous Dallas shower scene.

Those of a certain vintage won't need further explanation - but for anyone else it was when the famous old show's ratings fell off a cliff after they killed off their main character, Bobby Ewing, in a car crash.

Rather than write their way out of the jam, they just brought the guy back from the dead and explained the entire year off as a bad dream.

Mercifully there's no need for Martin O'Neill to pull back the curtain in his birthday suit here - but it was effectively the same scenario.

From pitch forks to Southfork.

Wilfried Nancy's 33-day car crash spell at Celtic was washed away and for the supporters the short-lived reign already feels like some kind of wild fever dream.

It was like O'Neill had never been away as Celts swatted aside United here.

It was the kind of performance and result seen 12 months or so ago under Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic took their time, kept their shape, showed a bit of patience and then put the opposition to bed with room to spare.

They had 80 per cent possession, more than 20 shots on goal and won by four clear goals.

Business as usual.

There was no Connect Four on the sidelines, no slack back three or players looking like they'd been asked the square root of 15,958.
