Sarwar attacks Swinney for 'culture of secrecy' as he piles on pressure

JOHN Swinney has been blasted for spending public money in an attempt to block the publication of the "Alex Salmond files".

Anas Sarwar said his party would release files relating to a probe into whether Nicola Sturgeon broke the ministerial code over a Scottish Government investigation into her predecessor as first minister.

Scotland's Information Commissioner (SIC) ordered the SNP government to release some of the written evidence used in the investigation by January 15.

But the government has raised a court appeal against the ruling.
