TUC leader insists voters want proof of an attack on inequality in Budget

LABOUR must slap wealth taxes on the super-rich to prove it is on the side of ordinary people, a trade union chief has said.

TUC general secretary Paul Nowak said Rachel Reeves must target the wealthy to restore a sense of fairness to voters struggling to make ends meet.

He today proposes a package of taxes on wealth, banks and gambling firms to fund public services.

Yesterday, the Chancellor announced she would deliver a Budget on November 26. She is expected to hike taxes but acknowledged the economy is "not working well enough" for ordinary people.
