Super Kartal cruises through in tattoo straight sets

TATTOO queen Sonay Kartal staged an astonishing fightback to book a place in the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.

And the brilliant Brit refused to rule out going much deeper in the tournament, having emerged from the shadow of Emma Raducanu in style.

Kartal had found herself 3-0 down in the opening set to Diane Parry of France. But she refused to panic and reeled off nine games on the spin to leave her opponent shellshocked on Court One.

It was too much for the world No.48 to cope with and cock-a-hoop Kartal closed out a sensational 6-4 6-2 triumph to make it into the second week.

And after inking her name down for the last 16, the 23-year-old vowed to keep on swinging in her next encounter.

She said: "This is the most meaningful stage I have played on, and I had lots of people here I wanted to do proud.
