Captains wife gets interim order in Scottish courts to stop his removal from UK

THE WIFE of the captain of a seized oil tanker has won a court order preventing UK authorities from allowing her husband to be removed from Scotland.

Judge Lord Young passed an interim interdict last night which prevents UK and Scottish authorities from removing Avtandil Kalandadze from Scotland pending further court proceedings.

He and his crew had been removed from the vessel brought to the Moray Firth.

But the captain's whereabouts are a mystery and the UK Government said it understands he is on a US Coast Guard ship involved in the Marinera seizure, waiting to leave the UK.
