Alan to be Grand Marshal in New York again

ALAN Cumming will perform as Grand Marshal of New York's annual Tartan Week celebrations for a second time.

Cumming, 60, is again emulating the likes of Sir Sean Connery, Brian Cox, Sir Billy Connolly, KT Tunstall and Dougray Scott, who have taken on the role.

This year's parade will include more than 4000 marchers including 1500 bagpipers, Highland dancers, clan committees and Scottish dog breeds marching up the Big Apple's Sixth Avenue in front of a crowd of tens of thousands.

Cumming, who hosts the US version of The Traitors, which is filmed at Ardross Castle in Alness, Easter Ross, is one of two Grand Marshals to have taken on the role twice.

He made his first appearance in the role at the 2009 Tartan Day Parade.
