Oisin: Training spats fuelling Thistle's title tilt

OISIN SMYTH insists training-ground dust-ups are driving Partick Thistle's title ambitions.

The Northern Irishman's first goal for the Jags since a summer loan move from St Mirren delivered the win and he revealed it's been Firhill for fights in recent weeks.

Victory for Mark Wilson's side over Ayr tomorrow night will pull them level alongside St Johnstone at the summit and Smyth is adamant moans and groans help build momentum.

He said: "We saw in training before the County game the bit was between the teeth, boys were arguing, falling out. That's part of a team that want to win. I love when I see that in training and you go into the changing room and everything is fine.

"That's important but everything is competitive. We were playing possession for five minutes and eight passes is a point. You can see boys arguing and falling out as we just want to win everything - and that's the way it has to be.
