ROBBO: WE'LL GIVE JALMARO TIME HE NEEDS

STEPHEN ROBINSON admits it could be next year before Jalmaro Calvin stars for St Mirren.

The Jamaican has taken time to settle at Saints along with fellow winger Malik Dijksteel.

Calvin's only first-team outing so far was five substitute minutes in defeat to Dundee United last month.

The 22-year-old arrived from Cavalier in the summer shortly after countryman Richard King.

King is an established international defender with a season-long loan in Iceland under his belt before arrival in Paisley.

But Calvin has struggled to adapt and barely left the bench. And Robinson said: “Kingy has over 30 caps for his country, he's used to integrating with people and playing.

“Jalmaro is a shy boy, very quiet and it’s just taking him time. He's getting there.

“It may be next season we see the best of him - or after Christmas - and it's up to him.
