|October 24, 2025
SELF-CONFESSED paedophile Iain Wares was arrested by Interpol yesterday and charged with raping four Scottish schoolboys and 86 other serious charges.
The former schoolteacher is accused of molesting 72 pupils he taught maths and rugby to at private schools in Edinburgh and will now face 93 charges in the UK, dating from 1968 to 1979.
Wares, 86, was smuggled into Simons Town police station near Cape Town, South Africa, at 9am before officers charged him with four rapes, 60 sexual assaults, 25 assaults and a charge of breach of the peace.
The extradition warrant said his alleged victims were aged between eight and 13.
