Points come first as Shinnie's deal runs down

GRAEME SHINNIE insists he's fixated on sorting out Aberdeen's dire Premiership form rather than his future.

Four points taken from the last 30 on offer has left the Dons in urgent need of wins to make a late push for the top half of the table on top of reaching the Scottish Cup quarterfinals.

Facing an 11-point gap, that starts with one of their two games in hand on sixth-placed Falkirk at Dundee United tonight.

Shinnie’s contract expires this summer and asked if there have been talks, the skipper said: "Not yet. There's a lot going on, so it's a case of we need to turn things around football-wise.

"There is a lot of the focus [on that] just now and that’s what I want as well - we want to try to win games.

"I don't think it has much impact on me just now. My sole focus is on trying to turn things around performance-wise.
