Nestle to slash 16,000 workers

WORKERS FACING PERMANENT BREAK

THE new boss of Kit-Kat maker Nestle has announced plans to axe 16,000 workers globally.

Chief executive Philipp Navratil said it was ramping-up automation to help reduce costs.

Navratil replaced former CEO Laurent Freixe, who was dismissed last month after an investigation into an undisclosed romantic relationship with a subordinate employee.
