My son was like a zombie, trial told

THE mother of a man accused of murdering his lover said he looked like a “zombie” on the night of her death, a court has heard.

Hazel Pearson, 71, who has since died, told police probing the death of Claire Leveque, 24, how Aren Pearson, 41, did not look “like my son”.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard yesterday of Hazel’s recollection of seeing her son stabbing himself in the neck.
